Labor Day

Since I’ve moved, I’ve been looking forward to Labor Day weekend.  Not just for the day off or the unofficial beginning of fall, but because Zoe was coming for a visit.  Undeterred by the onset of a cold and a flight delayed by four hours, we celebrated the weekend with nectarine-pistachio pizza, craft beers, and fireworks at Boomsday.  Sad as I was when she left, the weekend left me energized and ready to explore Knoxville some more with the next visitors who come this way.  And, of course, ready to plan my next trip to Cedar Rapids.

People-watching at Boomsday (the largest Labor Day fireworks festival in the nation).

Really, the biggest fireworks show I’ve ever seen.
